Labour to review regulatory exemption in first term

Stuff.co.nz posted an article stating that the Labour government if it came to power in its first term would look to review and exemption to the Telecommunications Act that prevents UFB being regulated for the first 10 years.

The exemption is there to provide certainty to partners from the private sector investing in UFB according to Communications Minister Stephen Joyce, and the effect of removing the exemption could be to drive up prices for UFB.
